Card of the Day: The Star
The Star has blessed today! The star is the light at the end of the tunnel, a becon of hope and prosperity. When the star is pulled, this means you are in reach of your dreams. At last, all the hard work and struggle will start to pay off.
This is the time to take the first step towards that big dream. Lay the first stone, and the path will follow. You may receive help out of the blue from an outside source or benefactor. If you believe in yourself, others will too.
The star also denotes a time of inner and outer peace. The worst is over, and now is the time to heal. Be gentle with yourself and others. Recovery is taking place and the next chapter awaits, a better chapter. Hope is finally in reach.
Card of the day: The High Priestess
The High Priestess whispers to us today, she is the voice within. She whispers because her style is subtle. In essence, the High Priestess is our intuition, and in a noisy world she too often gets overlooked. It is vital to go with your gut today, during decision making or especially if something feels off. Don’t go down that alley if you get a bad feeling, or don’t sign up to be an astronaut if you really want to join the peace corps instead. Trust the voice within!
It isn’t uncommon to have particularly vivid dreams on a day ruled by the High Priestess. Take note of your dreams, they can be used as literal advice or accurate warnings. De ja vou and increased psychic ability may also occur.
Lastly, the High Priestess can represent a person. Elusiveness is a major trait of this type, the person will seem emotionally unattached, almost otherworldly. They may be secretive themselves but will probe you for information. Today, you may encounter a situation where it is best to adopt these traits and remain mysterious.
Card of the day: The Lovers
Pulling the Lovers card calls attention to our partnerships. True love, not petty infatuations, is what this card depicts. Compromise is an important keyword to remember when dealing with this card. In order for a union to work there must be an equal contribution from each person.
The Lovers card can represent business and friendship partnerships as well, again balance is what’s desired. Take a closer look to see if the partnerships in your life are still healthy and beneficial to both parties; and if not, what needs to be adjusted?
Finally, the Lovers card represents major life decisions. It is time to make a choice about an ongoing issue and you are running out of time. The Lovers card urges us to take one side and stick to it.
The Major Arcana
The major arcana consists of 22 cards. Each card represents an archetype. When pulled in a reading these cards hold more wight then the minor arcana because they are ruled by fate rather then personal choices or actions.
Tarot Decks
There are hundreds of decks available! The same card can be depicted in countless ways but the meaning remains unchanged. The decks shown above are the Golden tarot, Rider-Waite, Thoth, and 1JJ Swiss. Each deck has a unique feel and can be used for different purposes. I keep my professional decks and private decks separate always. For beginners, I highly recommend starting on the Rider-Waite deck.
Card Storage
While not in use or during travel, cards should be stored in a wooden box or cloth pouch. Remember to keep the original packaging and booklet too!
